Mike Gottleib (piano)

Mike Gottleib
Mike started playing piano at age 6, over 35 years ago. He studied classical repertoire until, to his piano teacher's dismay, he joined his high school jazz ensemble.

After casual jams with various, loosely-termed "bands", throughout his college years, he joined his first official classic rock bar band, Diversion, in 1987. Stints with The Nightcrawlers and The Fugitives followed, until 1996. In 1997, a chance encounter with Catonsville original singer/songwriter Bill Dickson led Mike to join Bill's band, The Musical Think Tank (MTT). Mike has provided all the keyboard work for the most recent of Bill's CDs, "In Our World", 1998, and "Embracing The Light", 2001.

Over the past 10 years, Mike has also recorded sessions for many of Bill's DRAT Productions Studio clients. As luck would have it, Richard was talking to Bill in late 2006 about an open keyboard position with his jazz group. Bill suggested Mike and, in early 2007, Mike jumped at the opportunity to join The Richard Walton Group.
